My Name is Chris "Sarge" Gill from Tyler, Texas and Asleep At The Reel is a channel I created in 2018. The point was that I like to fish and I wanted to record those trips for family to see long after I am gone. The channel grew and grew and is still growing so I am bringing more and more content, but with the simply end result of providing something for my kids and grandkids to remember.
Over the years I have gotten to know many other YouTube Channels and have had the opportunity to fish with them and honestly have had a blast. Although I mainly fish in Texas, I love to make road trips and fish other parts of the country, so if you watch the channel you will notice me fishing in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee and hope to add more states to this soon.
A little about me. I grew up in Lafayette, La, joined the Army right out of high school, 1987. I spent time Active Duty, Army National Guard and Army Reserves. I was injured in Afghanistan in 2005 which led to my medical retirement in 2011. I founded a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization called Lone Star Warriors Outdoors where we help combat injured warriors from Afghanistan and Iraq wars combat PTSD and help with suicide prevention.
